2nd Corporal D. McArthur (176th Company, Royal Engineers) and his Officer returning from reconnoitering mine craters around the Givenchy Ridge - October 13th 1915. For his conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty, in rescuing his Officer, he was awarded the DCM. "Deeds That Thrill The Empire" - Page 466.
