His Majesty's Hospital Ship, Lanfranc, off Salonika. Mount Olympus is in the background. Lanfranc had accommodation for 403 wounded. It was sunk by the German submarine UB40 on the 17th April 1917, while bound for Southampton. 17 British and 17 German patients were lost.
