Muirhead Bone
A Stable on the Western Front. This was used as a stable which housed the naval airship SS 40 on 1st July 1916, but its original use was as an airship shed at Boubers-sur-Canche, Frévent, 1917.

Artist:Sir DAVID MUIRHEAD BONE, NEAC HRSW HRSA HARIBA (1876-1953). Appointed as Britain's first official war artist in May 1916. Commissioned as an honorary Second Lieutenant, he arrived in France during the Battle of the Somme, serving with the Allied forces on the Western Front and also with the Royal Navy for a time.
