Portrait of Edith Cavell - "Make Her Cause Of Mercy Your Own." The original drawing was exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 1917, and was once owned by Queen Alexandra. Not done in the lifetime of the sitter, it presents Cavell as a latter-day saint, the Gothic script and nun-like veil adding emphasis.
