"Everyone should do his bit. Enlist Now." Boy Scout, foot on drum, standing in front of a wall filled with enlistment posters. The Scout in the picture is thinking hard about changing one uniform for another - he has been looking at the posters behind him and their message is clear. The Scout is also shown as the ideal audience for such messages - with his training and his smart attitude, he is the kind of young man the services needed. Many boys lied about their age in response to such advertisements and joined up.
