Artist:
Lieutenant JAMES McBEY, Army & Postal Stationery Service/Special List (1883-1959). He travelled extensively in Europe, N Africa, and America, and was a war artist in France and with the Australian Camel Patrol in Egypt and Palestine during World War 1. In 1916 he became an Official War Artist. In 1917 he was sent to Egypt and during an intensely active two years he produced some 300 watercolors of the campaign in Egypt and Palestine.
