E. CARTER PRESTON

In 1917, there was a competition for a suitable design for a memorial plaque to be given to the next of kin of all soldiers from within the British Commonwealth whose deaths were attributable to the War. There were 800 entries and the prize of £250 was won by the sculptor, E. Carter Preston of Liverpool.
